  • Mildura Art Group Winter Exhibition – you can view artwork created by some of local artists, including the Archibald Prize entry by Colin Rowe, depicting Denis Ryan. Riverfront Studio and Gallery open Tuesdays, Saturdays and Public Holidays 10 am – 4 pm and daily during school holidays. (July 1 to September 4)
  • Winter Wonderland Ice Skating – fun for the young and young at heart – guests can try their luck ice skating, or hit the ‘slopes’ on a toboggan. Mildura Central. (July 1 – 21)
  • Loose Parts Adventure Playground – children can use their imagination to re-purpose simple, everyday materials – no limits, no directions. Creativity is the key. Langtree Mall 10:30 am – 12:30 pm. More information – www.milduracity.com.au  (July 1 – 5)
  • Hattah Desert Race – this one needs no introduction – race fans can make a weekend of it, enjoying the scrutineering in Red Cliffs on Friday night before all the bikes rev into action on Saturday and Sunday. Come and support the Indulge Race Team. Information via www.hattahdesertrace.com.au (July 5 – 7)
  • Mildura Fringe EcoFest – visitors to celebrate all things creative, cultural and sustainable. There will be live music, a pedal-powered cinema screening world-changing documentaries, a lantern parade, participatory art, workshops and presentations. Oh and of course there will also be delicious food and a licensed bar (yes, even some mulled wine) 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm Mildura Eco Village, 15 Scherger Drive.   •  Annual Mildura & District Antique Fair – for lovers of vintage collectables. This is the 17th year of the fair and the diversity of furniture, books, jewellery, glass, china and other collectables continues to grow. Homemaker Centre Fifteenth St. 10 am – 5 pm Saturday and 10 am – 4 pm Sunday (July 6 – 7)
  • Basketball Workshops with Calvin Henry – you can get your kids moving with this workshop which is limited to just 20 places per session so if you know someone who’d be interested, now is the time to register. Langtree Mall. 10 am – 3 pm – more information via www.milduracity.com.au (July 8 – 12)
  • ‘Teach me how to Dougie’ 10th Anniversary Tour – 4x Platinum Recording Artist – Cali Swag District’ Direct from the US, known for the worldwide smash hit ‘Teach Me How To Dougie’ is heading to Mildura, with special guests ‘Island Reggae’ from the Solomon Islands, ‘Blad P2A of DMP & Dehvande of Onetox, performing all the groups hits and solo material alongside DMP’s Official DJ Victor Lopez. If you have visitors in town who might like this, send them along to the Setts.   • Koorlong Camp Oven Cook Off – visitors get out to sample all the food – you can even vote for their favourite meal. Good old fashioned country fun. 10:00 am the cooking starts and eating hits off from 12 pm. Koorlong Hall, Benetook Avenue. (July 21)
  •  40th Birthday  of Mildura River City Jazz Club Inc – visitors and jazz fans can enjoy a festive atmosphere where live music is the star of the show. 1 pm – 4:30 pm Mildura Golf Resort, Twelfth Street. For more information and bookings contact Helen on 5024 5056. (July 7)
  • Mildura Writers Festival – this annual event offers Mildura a leading cultural festival that unites fine words, ideas, food and wine. A full copy of the program and tickets can be found at www.mildurawritersfestival.com (July 18 – 21)
  • Mildura Cup Day – country racing at its best – fashions on the field, live music, kids’ activities, food, drinks and of course, the running of the $100,000 Mildura Cup. Mildura Racing Club, Racecourse Rd Mildura (July 26)
  • Murray Mallee Winter Series / Trackside Food Truck Festival – the trackside fun continues on the Saturday with more racing, entertainment and the fantastic Food Truck Festival that this year includes Fossey’s Gin.
