What’s On in Mildura

We invite you to discover the real Mildura. Mildura, with its many historical references to the life and times of our early settlers, also incorporates a widely recognized calendar of events and festivals to be enjoyed by all. Discover what there is to see and do while visiting our magnificent region!

Current and upcoming events

What, where and when?

You can’t say there’s never anything to do in Mildura – here are a few things you can promote to your guests this week:

  1. The Ted Hurley Ski Race – we mentioned this iconic event last week but it’s worth repeating – keep spreading the word about this one… Two rivers, one race; a weekend of fun on and off the water. (November 2 – 4).
  2. The Mildura Show – it’s on this week and local schools have today off to make the most of the rides, attractions and obviously, to buy up all the showbags. Sugar hit anyone? Key drawcards this year include the Uteznvanz Auto Show, Brophy Bros Circus, Red Axe Bike Stunt Show, Cool for Kids (interactive kids’ show) and Rock About (rock climbing wall). Fireworks on Thursday and Saturday evenings. More info via mildurashow.org.au (18 – 20 October).
  3. Speedway 2018 Victorian Solo Championships – some high octane action out at the Speedway – see Australia’s best solo riders battle it out to become the 2018 Solo Champion. Olympic Park Speedway 7:30 – 10pm (27 October).
  4. Twilight at the Mildura Arts Centre – another reminder about tonight’s Twilight at MAC, it’s  a great way for tourists to enjoy our Arts Centre. They can have a picnic on the lawn and enjoy live music, kids’ activities and free entry to the galleries and Rio Vista. There will be drinks and food available for purchase.  (no BYO alcohol). (5 – 8:30pm 19 October)
  5. Goanna Run – for anyone who loves cool cars and a touch of rock-a-billy. If you have visitors in town, send them along to the Cruise In & Kustom Kulture Festival in Langtree Ave between 7th and 9th streets (27 October).
  6. Wentworth Races – who needs the Melbourne Cup when the famous Wentworth Races are right outside our backdoor? Send your visitors off to have a  true country race experience.  Food, entertainment, fashion, even horses, It’s all here. More info via www.wentworthraces.com (Melbourne Cup Day).
  7. Australian Inland Botanic Gardens Big Brekkie and Market – visitors can enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast before exploring the gardens either on foot, or from one of the Garden Train Tours. There will be market stalls to tempt and a local ukulele band will entertain the crowds. The train will run at 10am and 11am – $10 for adults, children under 12 are free. (8:30am – 12pm 27 October).
  8. Wakeboard State of Origin – don’t forget to keep promoting this great event to your visitors and through your networks. We have flyers for social media and we’re also happy to supply you with posters if you’d like to put some up around your business. (17 November)
  9. India Day –  a festival of lights, known as Diwali that calls for health, wealth and peace on Earth. Well worth checking out. Mildura Arts Centre Lawns 4-7pm (28 October).
  10. Australian Print Triennial – this exhibition celebrates the art of print making and its place in Australia’s art culture and brings together works from national and international artists. The Art Vault (31 October – 2 November)
